Biography of Musica Bella Orchestra member Jane Yi
|Jane Yi, flute, is a three-time prizewinner at the National Flute Association, winner of the New York Flute Club Young Artist Competition, and an ASCAP scholarship recipient.
A graduate of Barnard College with a degree in Art History/Visual Arts, Jane has studied with Samuel Baron and Carol Wincenc through the Barnard-Columbia-Juilliard exchange program. Other teachers include Bradley Garner, Randy Bowman, and Jack Wellbaum, faculty members of University of Cincinnati CCM. Presently she teaches privately and works in the fashion industry.
A lifelong resident of Brooklyn, Jane occasionally becomes restless and enjoys traveling to the other boroughs.
She was a soloist in Bach’s Fourth Brandenburg Concerto on Musica Bella’s October 1 and 4, 2006 Baroque Chamber Orchestra concerts.
